To promote the quality of hospital service,not only controlling the growth of medical expense,but also maintaining the quality of healthcare are needed.Case-mix is an effective instrument for output-price and clinical pathway(CP) is a modern medical quality management mode.Some researchers even raised the concept of CP-DRGS so as to advocate the idea of combining clinical pathway with case-mix. Case-mix was lately begun to study in our country.Few research has been found in studying case-mix by appling clinical pathway. This study is conducted as follows:firstly,using decision trees algorithm to solute case-mix model;secondly,based on the characteristics of the clinical pathway data,designing a novel method(ROCK cluster analysis) to solute case-mix model;finally,using entropy and analysis of variance(ANOVA) to evaluate the case-mix results. This study reveals that the case-mix result is more reasonable using cases under clinical pathway because we can acquire a more standard sample set by applying clinical pathway variation analysis. It is possible to realize the idea of combining clinical pathway with case-mix if we construct a case-mix classification scheme under the clinical pathway process. The results also show that ROCK cluster analysis is more suitable to solute case-mix model based on clinical pathway than decision trees algorithm because decision trees algorithm depends on dividing individual variables, but ROCK doesn't depend.
