Effect Of Electroacupuncture With Different Frequencies On β-Endorphin Contents In Cerebrums Of Mice With Sarcoma

Objective:To study effect of electroacupuncture with different frequencies on β -endorphin content in cerebrum of mice with S-180 sarcoma and analyse electroacupuncture analgesia with different frequencies on mice with sarcoma, and therefore to provide theoretical evidences for clinic to treat tumor pain with electroacupuncture instrument. Methods:1. To set up a sarcoma theriomimicry by vaccinating S-180 sarcoma cells to subcutis of ICR mice.2. Through acupuncturing ear acupuncture points by electroacupuncture instrument with different frequencies to treat mice with sarcoma.3. To estimate β -endorphin contents in cerebrum of mice with sarcoma after electroacupuncture by radio-immunity analysis (RIA). Results: 1. β -endorphin content in cerebrums of mice with sarcoma without electroacupuncture is higher than them of normal mice. The significant difference is found between the two groups (P< 0.05).2. β-endorphin content in cerebrum of mice with sarcoma with different frequencies(2Hz,20Hz,100Hz, special frequency) electroacupuncture is all higher than them of mice with sarcoma without electroacupuncture (all values of P are lower than 0.05). 3. β -endorphin content in cerebrum of mice with sarcoma with special frequencies is all higher than fixed frequencies(2Hz,20Hz,100Hz), (all values of P are lower than 0.05 ) , β -endorphin content in cerebrum of mice with sarcoma with fixed frequencies(2Hz,20Hz,100Hz) electroacupuncture decreases in sequence,(each other values of P are lower than 0.05). Conclusions: β -endorphin content in cerebrums of mice with sarcoma may be heightened by electroacupuncture. Different frequencies(2Hz,20Hz,100Hz,special frequency)electroacupuncture have different effect on heightened beta-endorphin content in cerebrum of mice. β -endorphin content in cerebrum of mice with sarcoma after special frequency electroacupuncture is the highest,it is suggested that special frequency is suitable for clinic to treat tumor pain with electroacupuncture instrument.
