Will Extaheptic metabolism change in body with liver dysfunction? Will the extrahepatic metabolism play a more important role in that situation? There is little answer about it. We observed the metabolism of rocuronium in 20 patients undergoing liver transplantation and we also investigated the metabolism of rocuronium without kidney or without liver in bile duct 1 week ligated rats(BDR). We also get the organs of liver, kidney and intestine of the rats with bile duct iigated and control rats and to determine weather there are some changes in the expression of organic anion transporting peptide (Oatp), which is an important transporting protain. Conclusion There was an enhancement of metabolism of rocuronium with dysfunction liver. Significant decrease in the expression of Oatp1 and increase expression in Oatp2 may be the reason of incensement of extrahepatic metabolism of rocuronium. Oatp changes may be one of the mechanisam of extrahepatic metabolism increase of rocuronium in rats with jaundice.
