Nonablative skin remodeling, known as photorejuvenation, is a new concept presented recently for aesthetic light treatment. This paper about photorejuvenation focused mainly on the numerical simulation of the optical and thermal transportation and thermal damage in skin using MATLAB software.Firstly, the optical and thermal parameters of biotissue had been reviewed. And the Monte Carlo method has been used to simulate the light transportation in skin and the resulting thermal source.Secondly, the solution to the bioheat transfer equation including thermal source has been deduced using finite difference method and been used to obtain the temperature field in skin. Finally, in combination with thermal damage dynamic model, the thermal damage area in skin was qualitatively predicted by using Monte Carlo simulation and finite difference method under contact cooling condition .The results of numerical simulation show the lesion of photoaging skin can be selectively damaged if the wavelength, exposure duration and exposure dose of irradiated ligh are reasonably selected.
