| Objective To provide countermeasure for â…¡ and â…¢ prevention of stomach cancer.Methods The survival rate and relative survival rate were estimated by using life-table method and Ederer I method .Weibull regression model and linear regression model based on principal component analysis were used to study the influential factors of survival time and quality of life.Results 5-year survival rate for stomach cancer in Fuzhou was 23.09 percent. The survival rate in 1992-1995 was lower than that in 1996-1999. The influential factors of survival time were the size of cancer,the stage of cancer, macroscopic types,the depth of cancer invasion,lymph node metastasis, type of medical expense, immunization therapy and age. The influential factors of QOL were sex,age, the stage of cancer, the depth of cancer invasion,the type of surgery, medical health care and body building.Conclusion The survival rate for stomach cancer in Fuzhou was still not high. Improving the level of the medical and health work,diagnosing and treating the stomach cancer as soon as possible, building up a perfect social medical care system and radical surgical gastrectomy are the key to improve the QOL and prolong the survival time of patients. Immunization therapy can be helpful to prolong survival time.
