Objective: To research the variety of nitric oxide and inducible nitricoxide synthase in intestinal tissue in salmonella typhimurium infected mice under different conditions. Methods: Mice were grouped and (1)given peritoneal injection ofhydrocortisone before infecting orally with Salmonella Typhimurium, (2)pretreated with oral streptomycin prior to infecting orally with Salmonella Typhimurium, (3)only infected orally with Salmonella Typhimurium and (4) uninfected controls.Respectively content of nitric oxide and activity of iNOS is measured with chemic method combined with situ quantitative analysis. Results: The mice infected with Salmonella Typhimurium all hadincreased NO and induced expression of iNOS in the small intestine. No similar variety was found in the controls. The content of NO and the activity of iNOS in the mice only infected with STM was higher than the other two groups. Conclusion Content of NO and activity of iNOS was increased inintestinal tissue in mice infected with Salmonella typhimurium orally. Hy drocortisone and dysbacteriosis suppressed NO and iNOS .
