Purpose To: analysis the clinical characteristics of overlap syndrome ( OS) patients and evaluate the curative effect of OS patients with continue positive airway pressure (CPAP) . Methods: 20 patients with OS and 80 patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) were studied. Complications, weigh index, respiratory disturbance index, and the lowest SaO2 during sleep were compared between two group, and to evaluate the curative effect of OSAS after CPAP. Results: the occurrence of hypertension, hyperlipemia and Polycythemia, protein urine was higher in OS patients than OSAS group. There were obvious significance of weigh index, respiratory disturbance index, and the lowest SaO2, course of disease during sleep were compared between two groups. After treatment, the lowest SaO2 during sleep of OS patients were increased from (57.92±21.32) %to (79.6±15.24) %; low ventilation index of OS were decreased from (32.47±20.26) to (3.56±4.49); respiratory disturbance index were decreased from (58.06±32.13) to (7.77±5.85) . Conclusion: There were more obvious clinical characteristics in OS patients. The occurrence of Complications was higher and severe. Non-invasive ventilation was a effective treatment of OS patients.
