Objective: To investigated the changes of the left ventricular structure and function in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) who haven't dialysis, and explored the factors relative with the changes. Method: A retrospective survey was made on 113 patients with CRF who haven't dialysis, investigated the changes of echocardiography and the levels of blood pressure, hemoglobin, serum albumin, lipid, serum Ca2+ and P-3 , parathyroid hormone (iPTH). Results: 1) The echocardiography images showed that the incidence of left ventricular concentric hypertrophy, left ventricular eccentric hypertrophy, left ventricular concentric remodeling and normal structure were 36.3%, 24.8%, 12.4% and 26.5% respectively. 2)The rate of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction was 63.7%, the rate of left ventricular systolic dysfunction was 17.7%. 3)The more increase of SCR, the more increase of left ventricular mass index (LVMI) and the more incidence of LVH. 4)It showed significant difference between groups with and without LVH on hemoglobin, systolic blood pressure, Ca2+, P-3, iPTH. 5)The systolic blood pressure was found positively-correlated and hemoglobin negatively-correlated to left ventricular mass index (LVMI); iPTH had positively related to LVMI. Conclusion: At early phase, the incidence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) with CRF patients was high, the main manifestation were left ventricular myocard-him remodeling, including LVH, and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. The left ventricular concentric hypertrophy was common in CRF patients who haven't dialysis. It suggests that the disorders of left ventricular structure and function may be relative to the hypertension, anemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with CRF who haven't dialysis.
