Objective To observe the glucose profile in type 2 diabetic gastroparesis. Methods 31 diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes were enrolled into measurement of gastric emptying of solids and CGMS to observe the 72 hours blood glucose on a balanced diet, compared with 8 healthy control. Results 58.1% of 31 type 2 diabetic patients were found to have delayed gastric emptying of solids. The average glucose was higher after breakfast (137.0±23.6 mg/dL vsl73.4±38.3 mg/dL,p < 0.01)and dinner(155.2±35.4 vsl87.9±41.7 mg/dL,p < 0.05)in the DGP than in the non-DGP.Maximum glycemia after breakfast (179.7±37.6 vs226.2±47.1 mg/dL,p < 0.01)was lower but was reached at a similar time. Two hourAUC was also lower after breakfast in the DGP (15759.4±4924.8vsl9117.4±4655.2min mg/dL after L,p< 0.05).Conclusion postgrandial glucose in type 2 diabetes with gastroparesis tend to be in a lower levels.
