Purpose:To evaluate the clinical applications of color Doppler flow imaging(CDFI) and transcranial color-coded duplex sonography(TCCD) in severe stenosis extracranial carotid artery and to study the extracranial and intracranial arterial hemodynamic changes before and after carotid artery stenting(CAS) and carotid endarterectomy(CEA).Methods:Before and after CAS and CEA,the vessel diameter, the peak systolic velocity in bilateral extracranial internal carotid artery and the peak systolic velocity, pulsatility index in bilateral middle cerebral artery, ophthalmic artery were measured respectively by CDFI and TCCD.Results: All patients after CAS and CEA had good results and the established collateral circulation were closed. Conclusions:Carotid stenosis could be diagnosed accurately by CDFI.The extracranial and intracranial arterial hemodynamic data measured by CDFIand TCCD are valuable in evaluation of CAS and CEA.
