ObjectiveIn this study, we do some research on the effect of Polysaccharide sulfate (PSS) on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) , and the possible effects mechanism.Methods1. General materials42 ASA The rat model of NAFLD was induced by high - sucrose and high - fat and STZ. In this study, fifty healthy Wister rats (140 - 170g) were used.2. GroupIn this study, fifty healthy Wister rats (140 - 170g) were randomly divided into five groups. Namely, normal group, model group, three dose groups of PSS (0.3%,0.9%,1.8% ). The drugs were administered by oral after 57 days.3. observationRats were killed in the end of study, then the weight of rats and liver were measured, liver index (liver weight/body weight) were gained, and measure the serum levels of TG, TC, HDL, LDL and the level of serum liver function. Liver were fetched out and measured the contents of TG, Histopathological changes in liver were observed under light microscope.4. Statistical analysisChoose SPSS 11.5 software to analyse. Mean standard express quantitative data, data were compared using analysis of variance (ANOVA). P <0. 05 wereconsidered significant.Results1 the weight of rats and live, liver indexCompared with normal group, the weight of rats were lower significantly but liver index were higher significantly in model group, the weight of rats and liver index were lower in three dose groups of PSS but without statistical difference. Compared with model group, the weight of rats were, higher in three dose groups of PSS but without statistical difference, liver index in three dose groups of PSS were lower significantly. Live weight were no significant difference among five group.2 the serum levels of TG, TC, HDL, LDLCompared with normal group, the serum levels of TG, TC, LDL were higher significantly but HDL were lower significantly in model group. The serum levels of TG, TC, LDL in (0. 3% ) PSS group were higher significantly and HDL lower ( P>0.05).Compared with model group, the serum levels of TG were lower( P >0. 05 ) in (0. 3% ) PSS group and TC, LDL lower significantly but HDL higher significantly , the serum levels of TG, TC, LDL in (0.9%, 1.8%) PSS group were lower significantly but HDL higher significantly. Compared with (0. 3% ) PSS group, serum TGXLDL were lower significantly in (1.8%) PSS group.3 serum liver function and the contents of TG in liver4 histopathological changesPathological findings showed that there were fatty degeneration widely in model group,The findings also showed that three dose groups of PSS(0.3% x0. 9% xl. 8% ) were able to relieve fatty degeneration in liver significantly.Conclusions1. This study demonstrates that PSS has therapeutic effects on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).2. The possible effects mechanism of PSS might be associated with improving metabolism of serum TG, TC, LDL, HDL, then improves hepatic metabolism of fatty.
