Objective: To study the allied effects on BBB permeability in order to inspect its therapeutic efficacy. Methods: Freeney' s severe craniocerebral injury model was induced in Wistar rats, which were randomly allocated to 3 groupsinormal saline group, mannitol group, allied application group. In post-traumatic 4h,6h,12h,24h,72h and 7days,we observed the differences in BBB permeating rate between the three groups by Evans Blue content in traumatic brain tissue. We also observed the changes of the ultrostructure of BBB with lanthanum. Results: In 7 days post-traumtic, there were no differences between 3 groups in BBB permeating rate.In the rest time, there were no differences between normal saline group and mannitol group, but there was difference between the allied application group and the above two groups, and its mean was smaller than the other group' s.The changes of the ultrostructure of BBB were same to the changes of Evans Blue content in rat brain. Conclusion: Mannitol take little effects on BBB permeating rate. For the severe craniocerebral injury, applying earlier these drugs can minimize BBB permeating rate and relieve brain edema.
