A Combined Pneumatic And Ultrasound Lithotripsy During Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy Under B Ultrasound Guidance For Treatment Of Complex Upper Urinary Tract Calculi

To investigate the clinical efficacy of combined contactpneumatic and ultrasound lithotripsy during percutaneousnephrolithotomy under ultrasound guidance for treatment of complexupper urinary tract calculi. From Oct 2004 to Aug 2005 , 85 renalunits in 78 patients underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy using acombined pneumatic and ultrasonic lithotrite under ultrasoundguidance for treatment of complex upper urinary tract calculi.Clinical data was analyzed retrospectively.All the cases was cured successfully in one stage. 83 renal unitswas cured by one tunnel way and 2 renal unite was cued by doubletunnel. And The average time for whole surgery was 60 min and thetime for complete calculi clearance was 50 min. The calculidegradation rate was100% and The calculi clearance rate was 85.8%(67/78)while 12cases had a residual calculi smaller than 0. 8 cmdue to an inaccessible location. These 12 cases was cured byESWL.No complication occurred during nephrolithotomy after 1 to2 month fellow up.the merits of PCNL under ultrasound guidance for treatment ofcomplex upper urinary tract calculi to accurate locating, theconstruction of tunnel is safe and convenient. No X ray damagehuman body. A combined pneumatic and ultrasound lithotripsydevice deal with complex upper urinary tract calculi duringpercutaneous nephrolithotomy appears to be efficacious and safe forcalculi clearance and recovering quickly and less complication.
