Objective To observation the efficacy and safety of stent revascular treatment for renal artery stenosis(RAS).Methods percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty with stent was performed on 9 patients with RAS70% for hypertension or renal dysfunction, they all were renal atherosclerosis. The change of Blood pressure and serum creatinine (SCR) were observed in all patients. Results Technical success was achieved in all patients without complication. Before PTRAS, A mean systolic blood pressure was 155 ± 11 mmHg, diastolic blood pressure was 99±14 mmHg. At 48th hours after procedure, A mean systolic blood pressure decreased to 128±9mmHg,diastolic blood pressure decreased to 80±9 mmHg, significant differences were found(P<0.01);At 1 month, A mean systolic blood pressure decreased to 122 ± 7mmHg,diastolic blood pressure decreased to 74 ± 8 mmHg, significant differences were found(P<0.01).No renal functional change was observed. At 48th hours after proceduce,l patient was cured,6 patients were improved and 2 patients were ineffective; At 1 month, 1 patient was cured,6 patients were improved and 2 patients were ineffective. Conclusions PTRAS are safe and effective in treatment of renal artery stenosis.
