With the development of the modernization of traditional Chinesemedicine, people pay more attention to the toxic substances in the medicine.In this article, we researched on the toxic substances, including amygdalin andheavy metal elements, and the main outcome are listed in the followed.1. We used HPLC method to determine amygdalin in Apricot-kernel,Prunus Tomentosa Thunb. and hawthorn. The traditional reflux extractionmethod was used to extract amygdalin from Apricot-kernel and PrunusTomentosa Thunb.. We optimized the extracting method, and found that watersolution containing 0.1% citric acid could prevent amygdalin fromdecomposition, and 2.5 hr reflux time and 60℃water bath temperature are themost suitable reflux extraction conditions. We used SPE method for thepretreatment of reflux extract, C18 and MWNT as adsorbents, in order toprevent chromatographic column from pollution, and get better separativereproduction. The result showed that the two adsorbents have good selectiveadsorptive capacity for amygdalin. We used method that ultrasonic extractionby petroleum ether for 15 minutes and then soxhlet extraction by methanol for5 hours to extract amygdalin from hawthorn, for there are too much glucide,pigments and lipids in hawthorn. It would be difficult to filtrate and separatewhen using water as extracting solution. The conclusion that the content ofamygdalin is high in the seeds was drawn by comparing the samplescontaining different ratios of seeds, and the extracting yield of amygdalin wasmost high when using the pieces than the powders of hawthorn. The CEmethod was also used to determine amygdalin in hawthorn.2. We used ICP-MS method to quantify some heavy metal elements indifferent medicines in different areas and in the same medicine, Danshen, indifferent areas. The result showed that most of them surpassed the nationalstandard. We also used ICP-AES method combining with microwave digestionto analyze the primary elemental speciation in Chinese medicine chuanxiong.We got the content of several speciation, including dissolved, suspending,organic and inorganic.
