The aim of this paper was to explore the relationship between visual pathway and attention under the difference tasks by means of event-related potential (ERP). With the visual stimuli, the influence of stimuli on the brain event-related potentials (ERP) to the succeeding stimuli was studied in the research, under two kinds of stimuli as follows: (1) Pure shape consciousness. The screen central present randomly the plane picture and the solid picture, the objective feedback to the solid picture in order to research "What" pathway. (2) Shape and position consciousness. The screen present the plane picture or the solid picture present randomly on the left and right sides, subjective feedback to which sides is the solid present in order to research "Where" pathway. It is important in theory to study the mechanism of visual pathway .We can have a good understanding of the brain functions in its information processing, by exploring the brain cognitive characteristics, and by identifying the locations of the structures which contribute to the visual pathway.The paper shows the visual change with the increases of attention difficulty by comparing to ERP wave and latency and the application of the BEAM and subtraction means.1) Returning to behavior experiments, the research show, when multiple feature singletons compete for attention, interference between them is strongest for features closely related to the distinguishing target feature. This competition appears to be object-lever rather than position-level, and is a evidence favoring object-level theory.2) Returning to ERP data and BEAM, the result clue to conformably that when process the shape and position of the same thing, the between "What" and "Where" pathway don't the separate in function, and maybe exist in the complicate mutual relationship. The result enrich the knowledge in two pathways, encourage the further study and explore nerve mechanism in visual mutual process of visual pathway.3) Returning to BEAM, especially Subtraction, it shows the mechanism of the visual pathway with the increases of attention difficulty, and it clearly graphs the effect of task level in the visual pathway, and found the theory basis and data foundation of further research of visual pathway.
