Objective: Discuss partial hepatectomy in the treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinama (HCC). Methods: Clinical data of 42 patients with hilar cholangiocacinoma treated surgically were analysed retrospectively. Of the 42 patients, 34 cases underwent surgical resection, resective rate 80.95%. In these 34 cases, 15 cases were treated by local resection, 19 cases by combined with partial hepatectomy: 8 cases by combined with right lobectomy, 3 cases by combined with left lobectomy, 4 cases by combined with left lobectomy and caudate lobectomy, combined, 1 case by combined with left lateral lobecto-my and caudate lobectomy, 3 cases by combined with quadrate lobectomy. 25 patients underwent curative resection, radical resective rate 59.52%. Results: The median survival of patients with curative resection was 28 months, while the median survival with palliative opertion was 14 months, l-,2-, and 4-year survival rates of curative resection were 90.23%, 72.79%, and 28.31%, respectively. 1-, and2-year survival rates of palliative opertion were 56.57%, and 26.94%. Conclusion: Survival rates of curative resection was better than that of palliative opertion, combined with partial hepatectomy can raise the rate of curative resection.
