Objective: Our research is to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of CPT- 11 combined with5-FU/CF in the treatment of advancedor metastatic colorectal cancer. Methods: Clinic data of recurrent or advancedor metastatic colorectal cancer in our department from March 2004 to December 2005were reviewed. Thirty cases testified by postoperative pathology and the therapeutic effects could be evaluated. Twenty-eight of advancedor metastatic colorectal cancer patients were treated and twentyeight cases were evaluable for efficacy. All cases were grouped with one cycle every three weeks, all patients with advancedor metastatic colorectal cancer were treated with CPT-11 150mg-180mg/m~2 ivgtt for day1 and for day8, 5-FU 300mg/m~2 CIV 6-8h for day 1 to for day 5,and CF200mg/m~2 ivgtt for day 1 to for day 5,21 days a cycle. Altogether 84 cycles were given with s median of 2cycles. Results: In28 evaluable patients, there were nocomplete response, 11 cases had partial response 13 cases had stabled is ease and 4 cases with progressive disease. There sponserate of the whole group was 39.3% and the stability rate was 46.4%. The clinical beneficial response rate was 78.6%. Median time to progression was 7 months and median overall survival time was 13months. Dose limiting toxicity was delayed diarrhea and neutropenia. There was no death during the treatment.
