Objective To detect the clinicopathologic features of nasal NK/T-cell lymphoma in Guangxi and their association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) Method According to HE shape and immunohistochemical staining, 89 cases were hand-made microdissection, then, were examined for the presence of LMP-1 specific DNA sequence by polymerase chain reaction(PCR). To contrast, immunohistochemical staining was used to examine the expression of latent membrane protein 1(LMP-1). Results The positive rate of LMP-1 in NK/T-cell lymphoma was 62/89 (69.66%), in nasopharyngeal carcinoma 18/30 (60%), in B non-hodgkin's lymphoma 1/20 (5%), in nasopharynx mucosa tissue 2/20 (10%). There were no statistical differences between NK/T-cell lymphoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (P>0.05). Compared with B non-hodgkin's lymphoma and nasopharynx mucosa tissue, NK/T-cell lymphoma have higher positive rate(P<0.05). There were significant differences between EBV-DNA and immunohistochemical staining(12.36%,P<0.05). Conclusion EBV was shown to be closely associated with extranodal nasal NK/T-cell lymphoma in guangxi. LMP-1 is very important to the lymphoma's formation and development. Microdissection is very helpful to improve the detection rate and accuracy; NK/T-cell lymphoma is a common subtype of lymphoma in Guangxi.
