Objective: To investigate the relation of expression of EGFR and EGFRvⅢwith clinical parameter in human mammary tumor, analyze its relation with development and metastasis of breast cancer with its clinical significances. Methods: we detected the expression of EGFR and EGFRvⅢusing RT-PCR and immunohistochemical in human mammary tumor, then evaluated the relation between the expression of EGFR and EGFRvⅢwith the clinical parameters of the age, menopause, tumor size, pathologic grade, metastasis lymph nodes, distant metastases, ER, PR and c-erBb-2 in t human mammary tumor.Results:⒈The expression of EGFRmRNA and EGFRvⅢmRNA: the positive rate of EGFRmRNA in breast cancer tissues, its adjacent tissues, and normal tissues was 49.1%(27/55), 16.4%(9/55) and 6.7%(2/30), respectively. The distinction of cancer tissues and its adjacent tissues, cancer tissues and normal tissues showed statistical significances (P<0.05), but its adjacent tissues and normal tissues showed no statistical significances (P>0.05). The positive rate of EGFRvIII mRNA in breast cancer tissues, its adjacent tissues, and normal tissues was 40.0%(22/55), 10.9%(6/55) and 3.3%(1/30), respectively. The distinction of cancer tissues and its adjacent tissues, cancer tissues and normal tissues showed statistical significances (P<0.05), but its adjacent tissues and normal tissues showed no statistical significances (P>0.05).The positive rate of EGFRmRNA in benign mammary tumor tissues was 26.7%(8/30) and EGFRvIIImRNA's 10.3%(3/30). Compare to the expression of EGFRmRNA and EGFRvIIImRNA in benign with breast cancer, EGFRmRNA with normal tissues showed statistical significances (P<0.05). the expression of EGFRvIIImRNA in benign mammary tumor tissues with normal tissues showed no statistical significances (P>0.05).The expression of EGFRmRNA was related to age, distant metastasis, pathologic grade, ER and PR, but not related to menopauses, tumor size, metastasis lymph node and c-erbB-2. Age≥50 was a protection factor of gene expression inhibition .All of the distant metastasis,...
