| Objective To find out the current epidemiological situation of human Toxoplasma gondii Infection in the special and the general population in Shanxi province. To explore the risk factors of infection and its role to provide scientific basis for making the strategy and measure of Toxoplasmosis control and prevention. Methods 10 cities were selected as the investigation spots. Drawing the local residents (unmoved more than 6 months) randomly as the objects by population proportion sampling method. The objects were divided into two gropes: The special and the general population. The special population means the group in which the people exposure to some single Toxoplasma-gondii-related factor, the special population was divided into 9 sorts according to exposure factors. The general population consisted of the same number of people who lived the same area with the special population. The number of being investigated people in the whole province was totally 4018 and 2009 people for each population. The objects received questionnaire during the cross-sectional investigation. The epidemiological baseline information was also collected. Blood samples were collected and serum was isolated for Toxoplasma gondii antibody IgG detected by ELASA and then the objects were divided into case and control groups according to the result of antibody detection. Single-factor and multi-factors Logistic regression were used for the correlation factor analysis.Results1,2009 objects were detected in each group and 244 people were positive in the special and 266 people in the general, the positive rates were 12.15% and 13.24% respectively. The average infection rate was 12.69%. There were no significant differences between the positive rates of two groups(χ~2= 1.087 P=0.297).2,There were significant differences among 9 sorts of population (χ~2= 59.858, P=0.000)and the Toxoplasma gondii infection rate of animal feeder, patient with lower immune function, veterinarian, butcher in meat processing plant were higher.3,The distribution of Toxoplasma gondii infection: There were significant differences between infection rates in the respect of region(χ~2=83.097,P=0.000),sex(χ2=6.171,P=0.013), age(χ~2=19.840,P=0.001) and occupation(χ~2=30.278,P=0.001) and no significant differences in educational levels in the special. There were significant differences between infection rates in the respect of region(χ~2=69.635,P=0.000 ) and no difference in others in the general. Distribution characteristic in region: Toxoplasma gondii Infection rate in Yangquan city(25.69%) was higher in the special and that in Changzhi city(22.92%),Yuncheng city(20.95%)... |
