Objective: Scutellaria baicalensis georgi is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine in clinical practice. Baicalin is a flavonoid found in the radix of Scutelleria baicalensis. Recent studies revealed that baicalin exhibited various pharmacological activities. It has anti-inflammatory effect, anti-HIV activity, antioxidant activity and apoptosis induction.Liposomes are well recognized drug delivery vehicles that have been shown to enhance the therapeutic activity of a number of drugs. Liposomes have the ability to passively accumulate in tissues . This process can result in the accumulation of significantly greater amounts of drug in tissues than can be achieved by the administration of free drug.Method: On the basis of preliminary experiments , determined baicalin liposome preparation methods and then adopted the single factor prescription for the identification of factors affecting baicalin liposome. The baicalin liposomes was preparatied by film dispersion method, active loading method, ether injection method and reverse phase evaperation method. The liposome and free drug were separated by using Sephadex G-50 column and then determine the entrapment efficiency. Reverse phase evaperation method was selected to...
