Objective: Discuss the clinical effect and function mechanism on the hypermyotonia of paralysis limbs on the earlier period after stroke by acupoint penetration needling.Methods: According to the character of acupoint penetration needling and the effect of promoting qi to activate blood , dredging the veins and arteries and relieving the spasmodism,80 patients were randomly divided into two groups: the treating group treated by penetration needling, and the control group treated by traditional acupuncture. The two groups were assessed by the Motified Ashworth Spasm assessment, the Nervous Functional Deficiency Assessment and the Motified Barthel Index after a month.Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group is 92.5%, the control group is 67.8%.There were significant difference on statistics (P<0.05).The curative effect evaluation showed: the penetration needling is a effective way to relieve the spasmodism of limbs, prompt the improvement of the nervous function and improve the activities of daily living. And it can strengthen the needling intensity, promote the transmission along the order of meridians, enlarge the scope of indication, communicate the functions of meridian between meridian and vessels and adjust qi and blood of meridian to improve effectually the spasm.Conclusion: Acupoint penetration needling is a effective way to prevent the hypermyotonia of paralysis limbs on the earlier period after stroke. And its curative effect is obviously prior to the control group. The penetration needling can obviously relieve the spasmodism of limbs , prompt the improvement of the nervous function and improve the activity of daily living. It is one of the important ways of anti-spasm on the earlier period after stroke.
