Objective: To investigate the hemostatic effects and mechanism of Fully Hemostatic Fibre (FHF).Methods: The hemostatic mechanism and effects of Fully Hemostatic Fibre were examined by the results of the thrombin time (TT), the prothrombin time (PT), the active partial thrombin time (APTT), the blood platelet attached time, hemorheology test, thrombosis test in vitro, surface electric charge determination test, material dynamic coagulation time test, animal experiment and clinical test. Results: Different concentration of FHF (0.2%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%) could decrease the APTT and TT ,but they had no effect on the PT. It was suggested that FHF can active endogeneous coagulation system. FHF had remarkable blood platelet attached effect. The effect was optimal if the concentration of FHF was from 1% to 2%. The rate of attachment was (54.5±10.25)%. The flowing electric potential was–0.24mv, the surface with negative charge could facilitate the activation of factor XII and had the effect of hemostasis. In the test of thrombosis in vitro, FHF could still produce thrombus though in the condition of the disorder in hemostatic mechanism. The wet weight and wet length of thrombus was (140.34±18.25)mg and (4.77±2.01)mg, respectively. The dry weight and dry length of thrombus was (25.8±4.97) cm and (3.74±1.81) cm, respectively. The results of hemorheology test suggested that FHF can increase the whole blood viscosity to 16.7±3.01 and 5.42±0.38, respectively in the condition...
