Objective: To study the percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting(PTAS) in treatment of extracranial artery stenosis and its short to mid-term outcomes.Study the efficiency and safety of the method.Method: Retrospective review and follow up the symptomatic patients with extracranial artery (extracranial part of internal carotid artery, vertebral artery, subclavian artery and brachiocephalic trunk) stenosis (mean degree of stenosis is 74.6%) performed PTAS in our hospital.1.Analyze the characteristics of all the cases: include their natural condition, clinical history, imaging manifestation, characters of stenosis artery and the etiology.2.Summarize the indications, contraindications and the methods of the treatment.3.Stipulate the metewand for operative technical success, nervous system complications and the guide lines to evaluate the curative effect.4.Estimate the short-term outcomes of operation: include, during postoperation(perioperation),the ameliorative degree of artery stenosis and the patients' symptoms ,the incidence of the operative complications.5.Follow up all the patients.Estimate the mid-term outcomes of operation: include the ameliorative degree of the patients' symptoms, the recurrence rate of the ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the fatality rate and whether or not had the restenosis in the stents.6. All the patients are graded with NIHSS when they were at preoperation,24 hours after operation and when are followed up.Results:1.41 stents were placed into 36 patients.8 cases were performed with... |
