Malignancy has become a major public health problem worldwide. According to WHO, about 7 million people died of malignant tumor every year. Furthermore, the morbidity is increasing. Drug treatment is one of main therapy for malignant tumor. With the development of new anti-tumour drugs, patients with advanced stage tumor live longer, but most anti-tumour drugs we used today have severe toxicity and drug resistance. In addition, we still have no effective drugs for many solid tumours such as lung cancer, liver cancer, colon carcinoma and colon carcinoma. Therefore, to develop novel therapeutic agents for malignancy is vital importance. It was reported that resveratrol (Res) is effective in blocking in vivo in the stages of carcinogenesis: initiation, promotion and progression. In our previous studies, we synthesized novel compound resveratrol trinicotinate (ResT) on the basis of Res structure. In our previouse study, ResT shows higher activity on central nerve system compared with Res, In this study, we investigated the anti-tumour effect of ResT in vivo and in vitro, and further using human hepatocellular liver carcinoma cell line...
