Many investigations of epidemiology indicate that coke—oven workers could result in cancers especially lung cancer which was regarded as legal occupational tumor because of inhaling COE. COE can induce LPO of biological membrane after PAHs were metabolized, which may initiate and promote cancer. Now it is thought that individual susceptibility is a main factor of lung cancer besides environmental factors. It is regarded that there are two kinds of metabolized genes having relationship with tumor, which are the phrase I and II metabolism genes. For example, CYPlAl metabolizes toxin and GSTM1 can catalyze GSH combined to carcinogen and exclude it from body.MDA is the main metabolized production and an important biomarker. It can result in mutation, inducing cancer and promoting cancer, which is a biomarker to research high-risk occupational population.PCR-RFLP ( polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism, PCR-RFLP) and PCR was used to check CYPlAl and GSTMl gene after the level of serum MDA was determined so as to discuss the relationship between polymorphism of metabolism gene and LPO, accumulate informations of coke-oven workers, protect occupational susceptibility population, and to explore the mechanism of lung cancer. Materials and methods: 1. Exposure group is consisted of 109 male coke oven workers, whose average...
