Objective: (1) To investigate whether the expression of CD40 and TRAF1 in peripheral B lymphocytes of SLE patients is abnormal, and to determine whether their expression relates with the SLEDAI scores.(2) To study the relationship between the CD40 and TRAF1 expression in peripheral B lymphocytes of SLE patients. Methods: (1) 23 female and 5 male SLE patients were collected from August 2005 to February 2006 in internal medicine of our hospital. All of them fulfilled the American College of Rheumatology classification criteria for SLE. According to the SLEDAI scores they were divided into two groups, one group is 17 patients with active SLE(≥9分)and the other is 11 patients with inactive SLE. We also selected 14 healthy persons who donated blood as normal controls.(2) The expression of CD40 and TRAF1 in peripheral B lymphocytes of 28 patients with SLE and 14 normal controls was examined by immnofluorescence and flow cytometry.Result:(1) The ratio of positive CD40 on peripheral B lymphocytes is higher in patients with active SLE than that in patients with inactive SLE and normal controls(P<0.01), and there is no difference in this ratio between...
