Daily rhythms of mammalian physiology and endocrinology are regulated by circadian pacemakers. The circadian clock is a self-sustaining oscillator with a period of about 24 hours that includes input, central oscillator and output. Circadian rhythm is one of the focuses in life science in recent years. The researches on the mechanism of mammalian circadian clock have been developed at the molecular level. Clock genes generate circadian rhythms by the core transcription-translation-based auto-regulatory feedback loops. The rhythm is coupled and amplified, and spreads into the whole brain and to all the peripheral organs containing local rhythms. Discovery of the controlling mechanisms of circadian rhythm will benefit the recognition of the nature of life, life adaptation to environment and health. The master circadian pacemaker resides in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which is located in the hypothalamus of the brain, but circadian oscillators also exist in peripheral tissues, and most peripheral tissues also have their own oscillators, for example, the heart possesses its own circadian clock. Myocardial and vascular hypertrophy are important complication of hypertension. Now many kinds of mechanisms have been proved to be related...
