Objectives To investigate the relationship of HIF-2α/ EPAS1expression in TAMs to tumor angiogenesis and progression in humanbreast cancer.Methods The expression of HIF-2α/EPAS1 in TAMs, microvesseldensity (MVD) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) wasinvestigated immunohistochemically on paraffin-embedded sections from60 patients with breast cancer.Results MVD, VEGF and TAMs were highly expressed in breastcancer than the normal group(P=0.006, P=0.013),especially in theperi-cancerous tissues.
