Neuronavigator-guided Endonasal Transsphenoidal Microsurgery For Resection Of Pituitary Adenomas

Objective TO evaluate the utility of neuronavigator-guided transsphenoidal microsurgery of pituitary adenomas .Methods 21 cases pituitary adenomas were removed by Neuonavigator-assisted transsphenoidal microsurgery.The BrainLab's Vectorvision neuronavigation system was used in all cases through surgery.It was used to locate the anatomic midline,the face of the sphenoidal sinus,the floor of the sella and the extent of lesion resection.Results 21 cases were located accurately by the neuronavigation system ,16cases were total removal,5 cases subtotal removal. All patients's neurological symptoms were improved,3 cases in transient diabetes insipidus ,no severe complication.It was attribute to the accute location that the neuronavigation system did.Conclusions The neuronavigation system can locate accurately,provide real 3-Dimension real time information, remove tumors safely and save time.
