Objective To study the relationship between the expression of Ki-67 and MVD in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EHCC) and its clinical significance. Methods .The expression of Ki—67 and CD34 was detected by immuno-histochemical SP method, and MVD was measured in 40 cases of EHCC and 10 cases of normal mucosa. Results The positive rates of Ki-67 was 30. 2±1. 9%, 8. 9±5. 3% (P < 0. 05) in EHCC and normal group, respectively, and it was no related with histopatho-logical types, but was significantly related with lymphonode metastasis and Henson s grade. The MVD was 53. 5±30. 2, 20. 6+9 (P< 0. 05) in EHCC and normal group, respectively, and it was associated with histopathological types , lymphnode metastasis and Henson grade ( P < 0.05). There are positive existing correlation between the expression of Ki-67 and MVD in EHCC. Conclusion The expression of Ki-67 and MVD in EHCC was related with clinico-histopathological features. The expression of the Ki67 and MVD can be provide to target for judging biological characteristics of EHCC.
