Objective:to examine the expression of cox-2mRNA (Cyclooxygenase-2, COX-2) and cox-2 protein and inos (Inducible nitric oxide synthase, iNOS) protein in gastric cancer and to explore the relationship between cox-2 and inos and gastric cancer,as well as the correlation between cox-2 and inos in gastric cancer.Methods:we detected cox-2mRNA in 54 gastric carcinoma specimens and their accompanying adjacent specimens by real-time quantitative PCR and cox-2 protein and inos protein in them by western blotting,as well as study relationship between these three variables and clinicopathological features in gastric cancer patients.Results:1.the relative expression value of cox-2mRNA in gastric cancer tissue is 3.41±2.41, whereas 0.22±0.10 in adjacent normal tissues ,there is a significant difference between them(p<0.05).2.there is not notable difference of cox-2mRNA between older than 55 and yunger than 55,whereas there is notable difference of cox-2 mRNA between male and femal (p<0.05), intestinal gastric cancer and diffused gastric cancer (p<0.05), and lymph node invasion and not acommpanying lymph node invasion (p<0.05).3.the positive rate of cox-2 protein is 67% in cancer tissue,and 13% in correspording non-cancerous tissue,having statistical difference between them(p<0. 05);the positive rate of inos protein is 56% in former and 18% in latter and there is statistical significance between them (p<0.05) 4.the cox-2 protein postive rate is 81% in intestinal gastric cancer,and 45% in diffused gastric cancer;inos protein postive rate is 72% in former,and 32% in latter,having statistical significance(p<0.05,respectly)5.t-he cox-2 protein positive rate is 83% in gastric cancer tissue with lymph node invasion,and 21% in gastric cancer tissue without lymph node invasion;the inos protein positive rate in gastric cancer with and without lymph node invasion is 65%...
