The Clinical And Experimental Research On Osteoarthritis Of The Knee Joints Treated By Prescription Of Tonifying The Blood And Stretching The Tendon(PTBST)

Osteoarthritis of knee joints is one of common diseases and difficult diseases of orthopaedics. Whose etiology and pathogenesis has yet elucidated completely,and there is no specific medicines that can cure the diease clinically. The principles of Chinese Medicine believe that the disease belongs to the areas of "arthromyodynia",its basic pathogenesis: deficience of liver and kidney,external evil factor attacks, stagnant blood obstructs meridian. Based on the principles of Chinese Medicine,we carry out composition of formula and compatibility of medicines and create PTBST to undertake clinical observation and research.,the results indicate that PTBST has exactly therapeutic effect,the total efficiency of 86.7%, with efficacy superior to the normal group. We believe that clinical efficacy of Chinese Medicine preparations treating osteal arthritis of the knee joints is sure; experimental research shows that PTBST can treat the disease by mechanism of actions—clearing and inhibiting free radicle; relieving the changes of cartilage inflammation and inhibiting synthetic action factor of matrix metalloproteinase.
