Objective: To investigate the effect of aged glycation endproducts(AGEs)on the growth state and the expression ofβ-amyloid protein in cultred SH-SY5Y cell, further to explore the mechanism of toxicity of AGEs on SH-SY5Y. To study the effection ofα-lipoic acid on the toxicity of AGEs.Methods: Advanced glycation end-products were prepared by incubation of bovine serum albumin (BSA) with glucose for 90 days. The cultured SH-SY5Y cells were divided into five groups randomly. The first group, the cells were treated by different concentrations of BSA(0,20,40,80,160,320ug/ml) for 48 hours. The second group, the cells were treated by different concentrations of BSA(0,20,40,80,160,320ug/ml) for 48 hours The third group, the cells were intervented by concentrations ofα-LA for 30 minutes before treated by AGE-BSA of 160ug/ml for 48 hours. The fourth group ,the cells were intervented byα-LA of 0.1g/l for 30 minutes before treated by AGE-BSA of 80ug/ml for 48 hours. The fifth group was the normal control group.to examine the cells'growth state with MTT...
