Objectives To observe the proliferation of neural stem cells in hippocampus and subventricular zone, as well as the expression of BDNF and VEGF in adult rats after reperfusion in focal cerebral ischemia, which were treated by cyclophosphamide, ascorbic acid and colchicin. Methods 128 male adult SD rats of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) made by intraluminal thread approach were randomly divided into 4 groups, which received respectively for 10 days 1)sodium chloride 1ml/d intraperitoneal injected(I/R group), 2) cyclophosphamide 10μg/100g(weight of rat)/d by intraperitoneal injection and colchicin 10μg/100g(weight of rat)/d through intragastric administration (CC group), 3) colchicin 10μg/100g(weight of rat)/d through intragastric administration(Col group), 4) ascorbic acid 5mg/100g(weight of rat) intraperitoneal injected (VitC group). For the sham operation group, external carotid artery was ligated without inserting nylon thread into the internal carotid artery. The methods of immunohistochemistry and hybridization in situ were then employed to observe the expression and...
