BACKGROUNDHigh intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment have been used in sorts of tumor and non-tumor disease. The tissue of target region would absorb the energy of the supersonic wave which can destroy it and the tissue out of the target region would not be destroied. But in the practice of tumor therapy especially for tumor locating deeply in body or tumor with a large volume, HIFU was a time-consuming therapeutic method and the curative effect was away from the ideal. Then the purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of changing acoustic environment in tissue (AET) by some approaches in order to enhance energy deposition in target region when ablation with high intensity focus ultrasound (HIFU). A few researchers had confirmed that microbubbles could enhance HIFU damage to tissue in vivo, but the experiments they had done were not comparable with clinical therapy. The study would chose the SonoVue (BR-1,Bracco,Milan,Italy)to changing acoustic environment in tissue (CAET) of animal liver and the efficiency of enhancing ultrasound energy deposition, the mechanism as well as the influence to animal liver and renal function and the changes of liver pathology were investigated.
