| Objective1.To study the effect of hyperbaric oxygenation(HBO) on NF-κB expression and apoptosis of neonatal rat hippocampal cell during hypoxia-ischemic brain damage(HIBD); 2. To observe the correlation-ship between NF-κB expression and apoptosis; 3. To investigate the mechanism of HBO neuronal protective effect after HIBD.MethodsSeventy-two 7-day postnatal Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:(1)control group (n=24), (2)hypoxic-ischemic brain damage group (n=24), (3)HBO-treated group (n=24).In the HBO-treated group, rats received hyperbaric oxygenation at 6h,24h,48h and 72h after HIBD. The control group was not administrated. The expression of NF-kB in the hippocampal was measured by Immunohistochemical method. The apoptosis of the hippocampal cell was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyltransferase-mediated 2-deoxyuridine 5-triphosphate-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) straining.
