Background and Objectivs: Spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), the result of a ruptured cerebral arterial aneurysm or an AVM, is a kind of common neurological disease. Cerebrovascular spasm (CVS), the complication of SAH, can lead to parenchymal ischemia and is a leading cause of disability and death . Endothelin (ET) and nitric oxide (NO) just are regulation factor of the partial blood circulation of the detection's organ in recent years . Endotheliocyte passes to release ET and contract the vessel with promoting endotheliocyte to propagate, and release NO to relax smooth muscle of vessel with repressing endotheliocyte to propagate at the same time . In the normal circumstance , the ET is placed in equilibrium with NO and maintain function of relaxation and contraction in cerebral vessel . the equilibrium in two different function materials of the brain blood vessel is broken , then cause the blood vessel contract and the brain cell hurt or parenchymal ischemia . this research is to investigate the relationship between ET-1 and NO in cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) and CVS following SAH , and then aim to provide the theories and foundation to clinical apoplexy of CVS .Methods: The CSF specimen was obtained from 35 patients on 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 14 days after SAH . the contents of ET-1 and NO in CSF were measured by radioimmunological analysis and nitrate reduction method respectively , meanwhile , the CVS was monitored with transcranial Doppler. Results: 1. the contents of ET-1 in CSF of the patients group increased significantly than that of control group , and decreased gradually after reaching the highest level of 62.13± 20.11μg/L on 7th day . that of CVS group increased significantly than non CVS group.2.the contents of NO in CSF of the patients group decreased significantly...
