ObjectivePost-transcriptional modification involving phosphorylation of wild-type p53 has been considered to play a role in the stabilization of p53. Little is known, however, about the role of phosphorylation of mutant p53 in tumours. The aim of this study is to determine the phosphorylation state of mutant p53 Serl5 site and the correlation among the phosphorylation, p53 protein in non-small-cell lung cancer tissue samples and serum p53 autoantibodies. The relationships is identified between the expression of the phosphorylation, p53 protein, serum p53 antibodies and clinicopathological characteristics. To evaluate contribution of phosphorylated at Serl5 to development of non-small-cell lung cancer. It may be possible to predict tumor development and/or progression post-operation and assess the diagnostic and therapeutic implications in lung cancer.MethodsUsing Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) technique, we examined the phosphorylation of p53 Serl5 and p53 protein levels in 40 paired samples (tumor and normal tissue of the same patient) obtained from freshly dissected non-small-cell lung cancer and normal neighboring tissue, and serum p53 autoantibodies level in these patients. Additional 10 benign...
