Objective: To investigate the feasibility of supplementary constant infusion (CI) for target controlled infusion (TCI) of propofol for total intravenous anesthetic induction and maintenance by comparing their anesthetic effects. And find out the best way of induction. Method: The 9-7-5 strategy of constant infusion whose predictable plasma drug concentration was 3.5 μ g/mL, was constructed by Trivatrainer software. ASA I II operated patients were chosen to join in the experiments (12 - 65 years old, except brain operated patients). The first experiment: Sixty operated patients who were anesthetized by constant infusion of propofol according to the 9-7-5 strategy, were randomLy divided into 3 groups: 1 min induction (group A), 2 min induction (group B) and 4 min induction (group C). There were 20 patients every group. Blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) and bispectral index (BIS) were monitored during the whole process of anesthesia. The second experiment: Choose 4 min to be the suitable time of induction according to the first experiment. Thirty six operative patients were randomLy divided into two groups. Patients of group A (n=18) were...
