Background:Ischemic cerebrovascular diseases often lead to neurology deficits which seriously influence the quality of life and even threaten the survival of patients. Recently, with the progress of study on the molecular mechanisms and histopathology of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury, a number of measures and drugs have been proved to protect neurons from ischemia/reperfusion injury. However, the clinical efficacy is still in doubt. Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP), a traditional Chinese medicine, is proved to be protective and therapeutic effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. TMP is widely used to treat cerebrovascular diseases in clinic. But its mechanism of protective and therapeutic effect is still unclear. This study was designed to explore the protective effect of TMP against cell damage induced by oxygen-glucose deprivation (OGD) in differentiated PC12 cells and its possible mechanism, and to investigate the therapeutic time window of... |
