| In order to prevent the complication and explore the way of rehabilitation, it is important to study the pathogenesy of myopia. The study on mammal animal myopia model has found the decline of cell components and the change of expression of extracellular matrix(ECM) in sclera. This is the major factor lead to excessive elongation of ocular axis and myopia refraction. A series of study strongly suggested that under the condition of abnormal visual information, neurotransmitters and growth factors in retina and chorioid will change and changes of these signal will lead to the proliferate of fibroblast in sclera, abnormal metabolism and the change of extracellular matrix. It has been proved that many substances take part in this signal transmitter, such as dopamine(DA), acetylcholine(Ach) and nitrogen monoxidum(NO). During the procedure abnormal visual information leading to pathological change in sclera, the action of these substances is not direct on cells or ECM in sclera. They are just upper signaling molecule. So, it is important to explore the bioactive substance changing in the sclera and elucidate the mechanism of these substances.Transforming growth factors (TGF)-p are multifunctional polypeptides, They are produced by, and act on, a host of different cell types. Three isoforms (TGF-β1,2 and 3) and three receptors (types â… , â…¡ and â…¢), to which all isoforms interact, have been identified in human body. They have the similar function, and TGF-β is best known for its effect on cell growth and differentiation. TGF-βis inactivation when it is secrete, it is activated and educe biological function. Its effect on cell growth and differentiation is two-way regulation, depending on the source and the kind of the cell. |
