Objectives: The aim of this study was to analysis the value of serum level of C-reactive protein(CRP) combined with matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9) in patients with coronary artery disease(CAD) ,and to investigate the correlation between levels of CRP,MMP-9 and the condition of patients with CAD and the score of angiographic morphology of coronary arteries. Methods: Using enzyme linked immuonsorbent assay and sandwich-format immunometric assay, serum matrix metallproteinses-9(MMP-9) and C-reactive protein(CRP) were measured in 60 patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS), 28 with stable angina(SA) and 22 normal control subjects. Then the level of LDL was detected. All patients underwent coronary angiography. The characters of angiographic morphology of coronary arteries were analyzed. The correlation between the serum levels of MMP-9 and CRP and the score of coronary artery lesions were investigated. The association between the serum concentration of MMP-9 and that of CRP was analysized.Results:(1) The serum concentrations of CRP and MMP-9 in ACS group were significantly higher than those of SA group and control group( 9.96±4.71mg·L-1VS 4.02 ± 3.24 mg·L-1 VS 3.49±2.96mg ?L-1,P=0.01, P=0.02;60.7±36.32 ng?ml-1VS 35.2±31.24ng?ml-1VS 37.0 ± 26.81 ng? ml-1,P=0.01 , P=0.02 respectively). But there were no different...
