Study Of Correlation Between Serum Hepatocyte Growth Factor And Vascular Endothelial Function And Effects Of Hyzaar On Them In The Patients With Hypertension

Objective: To investigate (1)Whether or not serum hepatocyte growth factor(HGF) level can be a new marker of vascular endothelial dysfunction in patients with hypertension ;(2) Whether or not hyzaar can affect serum HGF level and vascular endothelial function in hypertensive patients through its treatment of 8 weeks. Methods:Seventy hypertensive patients were enrolled, including 27 patients with hypertension grade 1(HT1 group),31 patients with hypertension grade 2(HT2 group) and 12 patients with hypertension grade 3(HT3 group). Among them,30 patients were treated with hyzaar 1 tablet per day for 8 weeks. At the same time, 20 normal persons were selected as normal controls.Secondary hypertension,valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy,pulmonary heart disease,diabetes mellitus,cerebrovascular disease,liver disease,kidney disease,infection, hemorrhage and embolism were excluded by clinical and laboratory findings.All antihypertensive agents,heparin and some agents affected vascular endothelial function were stopped for 2 weeks before the study. Serum HGF concentrations were measured with sandwich enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA) before and after hyzaar administration. At the same time, Plasma ET and serum NO were measured with radio immunoassay(RIA) and chemical method as means to assess vascular endothelial dysfunction.Results:(1) The levels of HGF and ET were significantly higher in HT3 group than those in other groups,and those were significantly lower in control group than those in other groups(P<0.05),but there was no difference between HT2 group and HT1 group(P: 0.061 and 0.162).
