Aim: to identify the protection of ciliary neurotrophic factor to retinal ganglion cells in the high intraocular pressure animal model.Method: We choose 13 rabbits and divid them into A, B, C, Dgroup randomlly, each of them has 3 rabbits. We inject CMC into the anterior chamber to make the high IOP model, and observe them 7days (A group), 14days (B group), 21days (Cgroup), 28days (D group) .Every rabbit one eye regards as the experiment one with the injection of CNTF into the vitreous, the other eye as the control one. The left rabbit as the normal control group (2 eyes). We check the IOP everyday at the same time, if the IOP are less than 30 mmHg, and last two days, CMC had to be injected again. To kill the A group after 7days, the B group 14days, C group 21days and the D group 28days later. Fetch retina organize conduct the optical microscope observing its dynamic change; do the WesternBlotting examine CNTFR a protein expression.Result: The expression of the rabbit's eye: every rabbit can find to have the reaction, like the cornea edema, but it will be clear again 5 to 6 days later. IOP; the average IOP is above 30mmHg and it can keep 5 to 6 days. The comparation of the experiment group and the control group shows no difference. The pathological changes; the retinal tissue of normal control group shows clear layers, including the inner limiting membrane, nerve fiber layer, ganglion cell layer, inner plexiform layer,...
