Objective: to study the diagnostic indexes and risk factors of children and adolescence with metabolic syndrome. Methods: â‘ Height(H), weight(Wt),waist circumference (WC), systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP), pulse(P) were examined in 20 cases of children with simple obesity(Obesity group), 38 cases of metabolic syndrome(MS group) and 210 age and sex matched healthy children(control group). MS group divided into two groups: T2DM group which included 26 cases of obesity children with type 2 diabetes mellitus and PCOS group which included 12 cases of obesity children with polycystic ovary syndrome. Biochemical indicator, included fasting blood glucose(FBG), fasting insulin(INS), glycosylated-haemoglobin(HbA1c), triglyceride(TG), cholesterol(CHOL) , high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), estradiol(E2), testosterone(To) and sex hormone-binding globulin(SHBG) were measured. The left atrial(LA),left ventricular(LV),aotic(AO), stroke volume index (SI), ejection fraction (EF), transmitral early(E) and late(A) flow velocity peak, and E/A were measured by conventional ultrasonic cardiogram; The systolic and diastolic early velocity of mitral valvular ring (MVR-SV and MVR-DEV),endocardial systolic and diastolic velocity of left ventricular posterior wall(LVPW-EnSV and LVPW-EnDV) were measured by Doppler tissue imaging(DTI) in metabolic syndrome patients. Ultrasonic-echo of uterine-ovary were examined in PCOS patients. The body mass index (BMI), WC/H and LH/FSH ratio were calculated, according to BMI=Wt(kg)/H2(m), WC/H=WC (cm) /H(cm). Insulin...
