Objective: The chronic hepatitis B is one kind of serious harmful communicable disease to human being. At present we still have no ideal treatment plan, the study on the HBV infection and organism immunity condition is helpful to the clinical treatment and to the prognosis. The pathogensis of chronic hepatitis B is related to peripheral blood cellular immune response, especially to the role of T cells. The amount and immune functions of T cells is directly related to clearing up of HBV. The relationship between T lymphocyte subsets and duplication of HBV indicates that there is significantly difference in the amount of T cells in different pathogenetic stage; on the other hand, HBV can induce T cell's apoptosis and influence the pathogenetic turn over. The objective of the study is to analyze the expression of cellular apoptosis factors'caspase-3 in T cell and the relationship between T cells apoptosis and the advancement of chronic hepatitis B.Methods: Four millilitres peripheral anti-cogolation blood was taken from 38 chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B cirrhosis patients selected by Random. Two ml of blood was used to analyze the amount of CD3+\CD4+\CD8+T by Flow cytometry method; the other 2ml of blood was used to mark caspase-3 after inducement incubation and analyze the caspase-3 in T cells by Flow cytometry; at the same time, the quantity of HBV-DNA in peripheral blood was measured. SPSS 10.0 was used for statistic analysis. Results: In the peripheral blood of chronic hepatitis B patients and hepatitis B cirrhosis patients, there was significant difference in the amount of T cells. There was descent tendency in the amount of CD3+\CD4+\CD8+T. The CD3+/ CD8+ T of hepatitis B cirrhosis patients was lower than that of chronie hepatitis B patients...
