OBJECTIVE: To study biomechanics behaviors and head injury behaviors of Traumatic Brain Injury of various positiones and different strength, to find the best animal model in order to study mild Traumatic Brain Injury.METHODS: Fifty healthy pure-white and short-hair 3~4-month-old cats were selected randomly, 0.8~0.9Kg body weight, female or male. These cats were divided into 5 groups: every group with 12 cats in frontal, left temporah coping, occipital parts,control group with 2 cats. Every experimental group were divided into 6 groups according to different strength coups. Every experimental cat was hitted one by one with better pendulum head injury equipment in various positiones and with different strength. Every hitted cat was observed for praxiology,was anesthetized and killed after some time, whose brain was dissected.Pathology of various positiones was observed.RESULTS: Cats of frontal part group began to show fracturc of skull instead of coma or subarachnoid hemorrhage in 6.04J coup,and show serious coma, fracturc of skull and subarachnoid hemorrhage in 10.11J coup, contusion and laceration of brain were not observed. Cats of left temporal part group were the same with coping part group,both had not head injury obviously in 3.97J and 6.04J,showed serious coma, fracture of skull and subarachnoid hemorrhage and contusion and laceration of brain to some degree in 7.76 J, 8.85 J, 10.11J, 11.38 J. Cats of occipital part group did not show fracture of skull in 3.97~7.76J,and showed transitory coma, had or not linearity fracture of skull instead of obvious brain injury in 8.85—10.11J , might show serious head injury in 11.38J. CONCLUSION: Domestic better pendulum head injury equipment is an ideal method to study Traumatic Brain Injury in cats, healthy pure-white and short-hair 3~4-month-old cats(0.8~0.9Kg body weight) are suited to study Traumatic Brain Injury; Skull in frontah temporah coping parts is damaged more easily than occipital part,not suited to study mild Traumatic Brain Injury; Impact with strength of 8.85~10.11J in occipital part of cat can easily create ideal animal model of mild Traumatic Brain Injury of cats.
