Since medical microscopic image processing rising in 70's of last century, the automatic processing and recognition of the blood cell image had been popular topic of this research area. The image segmentation was the basic of the image analysis and recognition. Although various image segmentation methods had emerged much since several decades, none had universally property to segment all types of images. The segmentation method was tight correlated with the concrete features of images. This dissertation introduced the technical characteristics and development histories of the automatic blood analytical instrument, and pointed out the ineluctable limitations that lacked direct way to keep view, had not enough description of shape parameter, could hardly eliminate the sample impurity so as to cause error. As a result, studying processing system and theory of blood microscopic image had practical value. It offset the shortage of the automatic blood analytical instrument in order to ameliorate the medical probation methods.The second part summarized the hardware composing and software function of the blood microscopic image processing system systematically and pointed out that the automatism of the blood smear preparation, including automatic smearing, dyeing and offering, which...
